Qld: Recycled sewage cleaner than dam water: expert

The chairman of an independent expert advisory panel .. says Queenslanders have every
right to to feel anxious about drinking recycled sewage .. but it's much cleaner than
current drinking water.

Professor PAUL GREENFIELD says although there are short-term risks from bacteria and
viruses .. they're no different to those found in the current water supply that flows
into dams.

Professor GREENFIELD believes public confidence will grow as recycled water becomes
the norm and people realise other environmental benefits.
